15 Students from Kodad Teja Vidyalaya Selected for Prime Minister’s Flag Hoisting Ceremony in New Delhi through Independence Movement Quiz
Fifteen students from Teja Vidyalaya, Kodad, have qualified to attend the 79th Independence Day celebrations being grandly held by the Government of India in New Delhi on August 15.
In honor of India’s Independence Day, the Ministry of Defence organized a prestigious national-level quiz competition from June 15 to July 31, based on three themes:
-
The Role of Women in Nation-Building,
-
The Role of Soldiers at India’s Borders, and
-
Innovations for Self-Reliance in National Security.
Students across the country participated in these three consecutive quizzes. The top performers were selected based on their outstanding scores. The Ministry of Defence announced the results on August 9 via its official website.
Out of 2,15,076 student participants nationwide, 200 top-performing students were selected and invited as special guests to the Independence Day celebrations.
From Teja Vidyalaya in Komarabanda, Kodad (Suryapet District), 182 students participated in the quiz competitions. Out of them, 15 students showcased exceptional performance and secured positions in the top 200 nationally, according to Principal Ustela Rama Somireddy.
These students received a special invitation certificate, granting them the opportunity to witness the national flag hoisting ceremony by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in New Delhi on August 15, along with their parents.

The principal shared that the school utilized this opportunity as part of efforts to cultivate student interest in quizzes. It is a matter of great pride and joy that 15 students from a small town like Kodad were selected to participate in the grand Independence Day celebrations held in the national capital, thanks to the prestigious quiz competition organized by the Ministry of Defence.
Principal Ramadevi and Director Somireddy expressed their happiness on this occasion. The students were congratulated by teachers, parents, and local dignitaries.
